“Revolution 1” first appeared on the “B” side of the Beatles single, “Hey Jude.” “Revolution 9,” a compilation, later appeared on the “White Album,” released in 1968.
Come to think of it, there was another song on the White Album which is perhaps even more appropriate in describing the events of today….Helter Skelter! Which was later used as a battle cry for mad man, Charles Manson as he described the need for promoting a race war between blacks and whites.
Funny (not funny), where society is today with the emergence of socialism as manifested by the DSA. Today, we find ourselves in a similar meltdown of social norms reminiscent of 1968. Sure, an unpopular war, racial strife, manifestation of radical groups and a growing divide between left and right.
Like the radicals from the 60’s, the calls for social change are every bit as loud, violent and obnoxious.
